Manchester United have seen Diogo Dalot kick on at right back but are still eyeing potential additions in that area of the pitch this summer.

Ever since his arrival from Porto in 2018, Diogo Dalot has shown the potential to become Manchester United’s long-term solution at right back.

The Portuguese ace has been a little inconsistent in years gone by, meaning he couldn’t pull clear of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the race to become first choice.

Dalot has now taken his game to another level and was one of United’s most consistent performers last season.

Gary Neville has shown his love for Dalot and he will absolutely head into this coming season as United’s first-choice right back.

That leaves Wan-Bissaka stuck on the bench and with just a year left on his contract, it’s unclear what the future holds for him at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejects West Ham United

Reports earlier in July suggested that United were anticipating ‘serious’ interest in Wan-Bissaka.

The 26-year-old is likely to move on when his contract expires next summer and United are ready to let him go.

West Ham United were suggested as the most likely destination, potentially handing the Croydon-born defender a return to London.

However, The Athletic claim that Wan-Bissaka has now turned down a move to West Ham.

That rejection means United may be left to keep Wan-Bissaka, opening up the chance of him running down his contract and leaving for free.

That is far from ideal for United, who need to sell players this summer in order to raise funds for more transfer business.

West Ham strike Noussair Mazraoui deal

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg now claims that West Ham have move on and agreed a deal with Bayern Munich over a deal for Noussair Mazraoui.

It’s stated that West Ham will be paying €15.5million plus €4million in add-ons, bringing the total price to around £16.5million.

Mazraoui is understood to have verbally agreed a move to West Ham, but Plettenberg claims that United are ‘still there’ in the race for Mazraoui.

Reports earlier this week suggested that United were exploring a deal to sign Mazraoui.

The Moroccan played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax and is viewed as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka.

Ten Hag even allegedly feels that Mazraoui can help unlock Antony’s potential having played together at Ajax.

The Athletic claim that United do still want Mazraoui but need Wan-Bissaka to move on in order to do that deal.

With West Ham now focused on Wan-Bissaka, this could be the worst of both worlds for United; missing out on Mazraoui and being left with Wan-Bissaka.

There may still be time for United to hijack the Mazraoui move, but with Wan-Bissaka snubbing a move to East London, it looks like Mazraoui is slipping away.
