The season is now over for Manchester United and it ends in silverware thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Arriving at Wembley as overwhelming underdogs, Manchester United shocked the nation by beating Man City 2-1.

It was Alejandro Garnacho who opened the scoring as he capitalised on a horrific mistake by Josko Gvardiol to make it 1-0.

United didn’t leave it there, scoring nine minutes later to stick the Red Devils two ahead through Kobbie Mainoo and a Bruno Fernandes assist.

In the aftermath of Garnacho’s goal, something very interesting was spotted and it said a lot about the performance from Erik ten Hag‘s side.

How Fernandes reacted to Garnacho scoring in the FA Cup final

In the 30th minute, the United half of the stadium was sent into chaos as Garnacho grabbed his 10th goal of the season to put United ahead in the final.

Reporting for Sky Sports from Wembley, Melissa Reddy explained what Bruno was spotted doing with Garnacho after the Argentine opened the scoring.

“Bruno, who had earlier advised Garnacho to keep going direct and at speed, seemed to indicate ‘more, more, more’ to him after that opener.”

It wasn’t just the captain who had this message for the team, but goalkeeper Andre Onana also did something interesting after Garnacho’s goal.

“Onana ran the stretch of the pitch to celebrate Garnacho’s goal and pulled everyone together, telling them to keep up this aggression and tempo.”

Bruno’s reaction says it all about Manchester United’s performance

Even the most stubborn United fan wouldn’t have seen the performance put in at Wembley coming. It was unlike any other display for the entire season.

The United team defended as one and was well structured but most importantly for the goals, the players were determined.

Bruno led the press as United continually caused the City defenders issues as they attempted to play out from the back.

It was an inspired captain’s performance as he led his side and ultimately the two teenagers to win the game and hand United the trophy.

Every single player can hold their head high after that game. FA Cup Champions, Manchester United.
