Manchester United prospect Amir Ibragimov is clearly a player who the club have very high hopes for.

Even though there is no shortage of youth talent at Manchester United, the club is not afraid to push special players up the pecking order.

One who the club believe has a very bright future is Dagestan-born prospect Amir Ibragimov.

Last season Ibragimov made his under-18s debut at just 14-years-old. Now he has reached another milestone.

Amir Ibragimov makes Manchester United under-21 debut

Amir Ibragimov was a surprise name in the Manchester United under-21 matchday squad on Saturday at home to Norwich City.

The 15-year-old came off the bench to play the final nine minutes of the fixture, which Manchester United won 4-2.

Sam Mather scored all four goals in the win, a memorable individual display from the young winger.

Ibragimov was brought on to replace striker Ethan Wheatley, getting a taste of what it is like to play at Old Trafford, with the under-21s swapping Carrington for the first team’s famous stadium.

Two games for Ibragimov in one day

Remarkably this 3pm fixture was the second academy fixture Ibragimov played in on Saturday, following an appearance for the under-18s hours earlier.

In a game which took place at Carrington at 11am, Ibragimov played the final 29 minutes as Manchester United under-18s beat Leeds United 4-0.

This continued a stunning season for the under-18s, who have won 13 of 13 league games and are on course to win the title.

Ibragimov has played most of his football for the under-16s this season, but is occasionally being mixed in with extra minutes at a higher level.

It is a sign of how highly Manchester United’s coaching staff regard him, and vey clearly, he is one to watch for the future.
