The future is bright at Manchester United with a group of bright talent coming through the academy.
Manchester United’s academy has been a shining light for the club over a difficult period, and there is more hope on the horizon.
The 2022 FA Youth Cup win offered some promise, and two players from this team are now first team regulars, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
There is hope that Radek Vitek and Dan Gore will join them, and there is real hope beyond that, with Omari Forson recently making his debut and picking up a first Premier League assist.
Manchester United’s promising under-18s side
Manchester United’s current under-18s side are out of this year’s FA Youth Cup, but they are winning everything else in their path.
The team have won 14 of 14 games in the league and are into the Premier League Cup semi-finals. It is an astounding record, with the team packed with future stars.
Louis Jackson, in defence, was part of the 2022 FA Youth Cup winning team, while young midfielder Finley McAllister made his under-18s debut when he was just 14.
Ethan Williams is scoring an assisting for fun in attack, with 19 goal contributions at academy level this season already.
There have been 20 different goalscorers for the under-18s this season, with signings made last yar, Jack Fletcher, Harry Amass and Gabriele Biancheri all playing their part and making a major contribution to the team’s success. Amass was pictured in first team training earlier this week.
Under-16s could be even better, it is claimed
A report from The Guardian claims that Manchester United insiders believe the group of players in the under-16s may be even more talented than the current 18s.
Two players namechecked are Amir Ibragimov and Bendito Mantato (pictured top) – with the former making his under-21s debut at just 15 earlier this year.
United recently called Mantato into the 18s, with the winger scoring one and providing two assists in a 4-0 win over Leeds.
Shea Lacey, 16, could be the most talented of the lot. The young winger made his under-18s debut at 15 last season and was making an impact for the team early this campaign before an injury, which he is almost recovered from.
Manchester United have made some ruthless calls with youngsters over the past year, selling players on rather than keeping them too long, but the very cream of the crop are getting chances, and the club will continue to ensure this is is the case.
