Manchester United have signed another youth star to add to the club’s world leading academy.
Carrington has been good to Manchester United in recent seasons, with the coaches helping young talents harness their potential, and in some cases, become first team regulars.
Part of the success is also down to strong recruitment at youth level, and since Brexit, United have had to increase a push to sign youngsters based in the UK.
This summer the club have already brought in Dante Plunkett from Aston Villa, Silva Mexes from Ipswich Town, and James Overy from Newton Abbot Spurs.
Now there is another incoming to add to the youth ranks, Reading youngster Camron Mpofu.
Who is Camron Mpofu?
Manchester United’s interest in Camron Mpofu was first reported by The Mail in late May. The MEN now report the signing is set to be completed pending paperwork and league agreement.
He confirmed the deal himself via an Instagram post in July 2024, writing: “I’m proud to officially announce my signing for @manchesterunited.”
Camron Mpofu has been playing for Reading’s academy since 2021 after impressing during a trial.
United are said to have beaten competition from several clubs to win his signature.
