The arrivals have begun at Manchester United this summer, but sales will be just as important to help Ineos rebuild the squad.

Joshua Zirkzee now looks set to become the first arrival of the Ineos era at Old Trafford, and with Rasmus Hojlund will form a deadly striker duo who can alternate throughout the season.

Arrivals are what everyone wants to see in the transfer window and so as expected this deal has wowed fans worldwide.

But for Ineos this summer, selling some of Manchester United’s high earners who don’t have a place in the squad anymore is of equal importance.

Now, discussions have been opened over a possible deal which could save United as much as £23.4 million next season.

Al Ittihad in talks over Casemiro move

Last summer, United will have been envious of Manchester City and Chelsea who saw a massive cash influx from the Saudi Pro League from selling their players there.

But according to a report from L’Equipe, the Red Devils could benefit from it this season with Casemiro emerging as a target for Al Ittihad, who will be very active in the coming weeks.

The report explains that Casemiro is one of four players Al Ittihad wants and discussions have already begun over the possible transfer moves.

This would be a welcome move for United and could see Casemiro link up with former Red Devil Laurent Blanc who is the favourite to become the new manager.

According to Ben Jacobs, Saudi dealmakers would offer £29.4m for Casemiro, which is more than reasonable with United keen to shift on the high-earning midfielder.

Now, it is up to Casemiro to make the decision with a Saudi move long looking his likeliest option this summer.

How much money would selling Casemiro save United?

When looking at the financials, it’s very easy to see why United would be so keen on getting rid of Casemiro this summer.

With the fee of £29.4m alone, it’d be a huge loss in regards to what was paid for him just two summers ago although where it becomes beneficial is in the money saved.

Casemiro earns a base salary of £350,000 per week at Old Trafford, which can rise to £450,000 per week with bonuses. This is a huge amount and costs the club somewhere between £18.2m and £23.4m annually.

Therefore it’s little wonder Ineos are keen to be in discussions with Saudi Arabia over the sale and they’ll be hopeful that Casemiro is also tempted by what would surely be a pay rise.
