Manchester United legend Gary Neville was left in stitches after he recalled the “funniest thing” that happened to Roy Keane during Euro 2024.
Both Roy Keane and Gary Neville were part of the ITV punditry line-up for the broadcaster’s coverage of Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.
The two Manchester United legends provided key analysis on matches across the tournament, including the Euro 2024 final last Sunday.
England fell short of the Henri Delaunay trophy at the final hurdle after the Three Lions suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spain at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Nico Williams broke the deadlock early in the second half for Spain before Chelsea star Cole Palmer came off the bench and scored an equaliser for England.
However, Mikel Oyarzabal found the back of the net in the 86th minute and Luis de la Fuente’s men walked away with the ultimate bragging rights on the weekend.
Gareth Southgate, who led England to two consecutive European Championship final defeats, stepped down from his role as Three Lions manager after the Spain defeat.
Neville shares hilarious Keane story
Roy Keane and Gary Neville appeared on the first Stick to Football show in the aftermath of England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
Sitting down alongside the likes of Jill Scott and Ian Wright, Neville recalled the reaction of fellow ITV pundit Keane during the Euro 2024 coverage.
The ex-England and Manchester United defender said that someone was trying to bring Keane’s clothes from the car to the studio, only for the pants to slip off the rail.
Neville revealed that the no-nonsense Keane went into a full-on meltdown and how his former United teammate felt that he should have carried his clothes in himself.
“The funniest thing yesterday: someone tried to carry his [Roy’s] clothes in from the car to the studio,” he said on The Overlap.
“As they came up to him at the studio, his pants slipped off the rail.
“[Roy went] ‘Oh my God! That’s why I should f******g carry my own rail. That’s why I should carry them myself.’”
Keane’s reaction to Man Utd legend Neville
Keane doubled down on his position that he should have carried his own stuff before the United legend went into a box-office rant about the entire incident.
“There’s people here obviously to help us and they’re really helpful,” he said.
“But you get out of the car and you’ve got a little bag and they’re going, ‘I’ll carry your bag’ – I can carry the bag!”
Keane hilariously added: “I don’t want people helping me, I just want to look after my own stuff.
“Because what happens is when people take your stuff off you, they’re dead blase with it and my pants are all over the floor.
“But I wouldn’t have dropped my pants. And people are walking all over my pants!”
Keane eventually settled down from his rant, but not before the Irish hardman had another swing at how ‘unhelpful’ people can be in some situations.
“People are really helpful, but it’s ridiculous,” he added.
“I can do it. ‘Do you want a cup of tea?’ I can make my own tea!”
