Manchester United are looking like a more attractive prospect this summer after Ineos’ arrival, now one ace has admitted he wants a move.

The transfer window has now officially begun for Manchester United, with Thursday seeing the deal for Joshua Zirkzee agreed as he is now set for medicals on Friday.

This is the inaugural signing of the Ineos era, and it’s an impressive move which shows the ambition held by the new footballing structure making the calls.

That being said, Zirkzee isn’t where United will stop, with several other positions and names being worked on with a handful of defenders looking like priorities.

Now, one wonderkid who is a long-term club target has spoken out over potentially making the move to Old Trafford this summer.

Ahead of Manchester United’s pre-season trip to Norway for a friendly against Rosenborg, the crown jewel of Rosenborg, Sverre Halseth Nypan has been discussing his fandom for the Red Devils and links drawing him to United which have been around for over a year.

Speaking on the United Norway podcast he touched on this, admitting it would be a dream to play for United.

“It would obviously be a dream come true to play for Manchester United. I’m aware United has shown some interest.

“But I’m quite adamant that I don’t want to open that door yet. I want to focus on Rosenborg, and not think too far ahead.”

Nypan revealed himself to be an avid United fan in the interview, something which can be used by Ineos to lure him to the Theatre of Dreams.

Nypan has long been linked with the move to Old Trafford and upon Jason Wilcox’s arrival it was once more mentioned.

United should bring Sverre Nypan in this summer

While he isn’t a priority this summer, signings Nypan should be on Ineos’ to-do list over the next month and a half, especially if he plays and impresses Erik ten Hag when United face Rosenborg on Monday.

At only 17, already Nypan is a pivotal cog in the machine for Rosenborg and is seen widely as the next Martin Odegaard for Norway.

Capable of playing in midfield or in the number 10, Nypan has two goals and four assists in 12 Eliteserien games in 2024 and could be a smart signing to replace Bruno Fernandes in the long-term.

With a current market value of between just £3.8m and £4.8m – as per CIES – Nypan could be a bargain, although he’d likely cost at least £10m to £15m. United could even leave him at Rosenborg on loan for a year or two which would suit his development.
