Manchester United are set to keep Erik ten Hag as manager, with Ineos making a decision on his future, according to reports.
Manchester United fans had been growing restless in recent days amid speculation over the manager’s job.
Claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe had met with Thomas Tuchel brought sharp criticism, amid concerns the decision makers were taking too long and the situation was getting messy.
Now it looks like the FA Cup winner is set to stay put at the club, with Ineos nearing a decision, which could extend the Dutchman’s stay long-term.

Erik ten Hag set to stay on
Manchester United are set to keep Erik ten Hag as manager, The Athletic report.
David Ornstein writes: “Erik ten Hag to stay as Manchester United manager. #MUFC end-of-season review culminated with decision to keep 54yo in position.
“After talks today Dutchman will remain at Old Trafford + hold negotiations over contract extension.”
Erik ten Hag’s contract was for three seasons, so now Ineos are sticking with the former Ajax boss, it makes sense to extend his deal and show him some commitment.
Two trophies for Ten Hag
Erik ten Hag has won two trophies for Manchester United in two seasons, reaching three cup finals.
This past season was underwhelming, with an eighth place Premier League finish, but the mitigating factor was an extensive injury list.
The FA Cup win qualifies United for the Europa League, and work can now move forward in the transfer window, with Ten Hag said to have been concerned that further delays to the decision over his future could hamper the team.
Prior to Ten Hag’s arrival, Manchester United had not won a trophy for six seasons.
