Signing Leny Yoro has now surely made Manchester United the envy of every other club in Europe, Golden Boy rankings prove it.
In the last 48 hours, Manchester United have completely turned around the footballing world by signing generational talent Leny Yoro from Lille.
The 18-year-old defender has completed his medical at Carrington and could be announced at any point after Ineos moved decisively to steal him from Real Madrid’s clutches.
It’s a move which could define the opening summer of the new era at Old Trafford and see arguably the world’s best defensive talent arrive.
This will leave every other club in Europe envious due to the trio United now boast.
Leny Yoro is Manchester United’s third Golden Boy nominee
Yoro arriving will see him join Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo at the club as world-class young talents, which bodes very well for the club going forward.
The defender will fit right in alongside Garnacho and Mainoo, with all three being standout players in their position for their age and having the potential to be world beaters – although in many ways they already are.
This means United will now have three of the top 10 Golden Boy nominees for 2024 in the ranks at the club.
- Yamine Yamal – Barcelona
- Joao Neves – Benfica
- Alejandro Garnacho – Manchester United
- Warren Zaire-Emery – PSG
- Leny Yoro – Lille [Manchester United]
- Savio – Manchester City
- Kobbie Mainoo – Manchester United
- Aleksandar Pavlovic – Bayern Munich
- Pau Cubarsi – Barcelona
- Rico Lewis – Manchester City
This is more than any other club, with City and Barcelona both having two in the top 10, but United are standalone top. Something Ineos will take great pride in.
Europe will be looking at the growing talent levels at United with jealous eyes, and it’s hardly a surprise with these three being simply phenomenal. But the youthful talent at Old Trafford doesn’t stop there.
Manchester United have a superb group of young players
For United, the talent pool of youngsters goes beyond the three aforementioned Golden Boy nominees. The squad as a whole is young and we can add multiple names to the list of exciting names.
- Amad Diallo – 22
- Rasmus Hojlund – 21
- Joshua Zirkzee – 23
This also sees the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot in their mid-20s which is still not old in football.
For all the talent already in the first team, and about to join, the academy is also bursting with prospects such as Harry Amass, Shea Lacey and Amir Ibragimov.
Exciting times at United right now and we cannot wait to see who Ineos decide to add next.
