It’s no secret that Manchester United has been a bit of a shambles over the past decade, now Nemanja Vidic has shared his verdict.

While we are a few months into the Ineos era at Old Trafford, it doesn’t truly feel like it has begun just yet.

However, as the summer draws closer and Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co begin to appoint their chosen experts, it’s feeling like it’s underway.

But the challenge awaiting Manchester United is huge and Nemanja Vidic has explained just how big a job is on the hands of Ineos.

Vidic is fresh off praising Kobbie Mainoo and likening him to Luka Modric, on Premier League Productions. But has now sent a warning to the new footballing chiefs at Carrington.

What has Nemanja Vidic said about the challenge awaiting Ineos

On Wednesday morning social media was dominated by one thing and that was Vidic’s quotes – relayed by FIVE – on the state of United over the past few years.

“It seems like certain players didn’t stand up and perform, especially the experienced players.

“It’s not just about the coach. I think it’s about the players. The mentality and that’s what is the issue at the club, not just this year, but the last few years.”

Continuing, Vidic explained that the new footballing bosses have a pretty big job on their hands due to the poor mentality at the club right now.

“Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team, they have a hell of a job to do. If you look at the way United played this season, I don’t think they are in this situation because they don’t have the quality – I think it’s because they don’t have the mentality.”

After these comments, United fans agreed with Vidic unanimously.

Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing about Nemanja Vidic

To Vidic’s comments, fans were reacting all over social media.

One fan wrote, “Vidic knows ball”.

“This is true,” another fan explained, “Coming from one of the players with the best mentality in the history of our football club.”

“Facts were stated by the club’s legendary captain”, said a third fan in agreement.

A fourth tweeted, “Finally someone is saying the right thing. Thank you Vidic”.

The sentiment was shared by a fifth who said, “Finally an ex-player who is talking sense”. This fan is clearly fed up with the lack of acknowledgement from other club legends.

Finally, another agreed with this, “Vidic might be the only united legend with proper ball knowledge”.
