Manchester United are hoping to finalise a number of signings this summer and one European giant will be watching with real interest.

Transfer business was always likely to pick up once Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United boss was clarified.

Now the Dutchman is staying put, United are working on a number of potential signings.

Centre backs are a keen focus for United but there have been mixed responses to transfer offers this week.

A second offer for Everton centre back Jarrad Branthwaite has been rejected but United have had a hefty bid accepted for Lille’s Leny Yoro.

United are also chasing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, with the Uruguayan thought to be keen on a potential move.

Bayern Munich hoping for Manchester United double deal

Ten Hag is also looking to bring in two of his fellow Dutchmen this summer.

Fabrizio Romano claims that a deal for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee is now just ‘one step away’.

Netherlands teammate Matthijs de Ligt is also wanted with United allegedly confident of signing the centre back.

Those two deals would be important for United – and seemingly also for Bayern Munich.

Kicker report that Bayern need incoming funds before they can strike any more deals.

The Bundesliga giants have already snapped up Hiroki Ito and Michael Olise whilst Joao Palhinha is set to follow.

Bayern still want to strike more signings though and are targeting Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.

PSG playmaker Xavi Simons and Rennes wide man Desire Doue are also wanted at the Allianz Arena.

Yet without bringing in more cash, Bayern seemingly can’t do those deals and are left hoping for United to sign both De Ligt and Zirkzee to unlock their own business.

How much can Bayern make from De Ligt and Zirkzee deals?

The De Ligt deal is fairly self-explanatory.

Bayern want to cash in on De Ligt – with a fee of around £42million wanted – having seen him slip down their pecking order.

De Ligt cost huge money in 2022 and Bayern now want to sell in order to bring in the centre back they prefer – the aforementioned Tah.

Juventus are bound to have a sell-on clause in the De Ligt deal but selling him would clearly give Bayern more cash to play with this summer.

Zirkzee’s future is also of keen interest to Bayern because they have a 50% sell-on clause in his deal.

Bayern allowed Zirkzee to join Bologna in 2022 but made sure to claim half of any transfer fee moving forward.

United look set to pay £34million for Zirkzee, meaning £17million will be heading to Bayern once a move to Old Trafford is secured.

It’s clear that Bayern stand to rake in a decent chunk of cash from United’s business, and the German side are seemingly left waiting for news from United before they can accelerate their own moves.
