Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has responded to City’s treble win by issuing a reminder that the Red Devils did it first.
City beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Turkey tonight thanks to a Rodri goal, while poor finishing saw the Italians blow late chances to equalise.
Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku was particularly culpable, missing one effort and blocking another.
But we can’t really complain too much about Lukaku’s finishing. We have seen that before. Manchester United should have got the job done in the FA Cup final last week, it was in our hands.

Brandon Williams dig
Manchester United academy defender Brandon Williams took a potshot at City’s achievements, noting that United did it first, back in 1999.
He wrote on Instagram stories: “Nobody wants a sloppy seconds,” with three Red Devil emojis.
Williams is a Manchester United academy graduate and knows the rivalry runs deep.
City, notably, did not have a single player from their academy in their starting line-up against Inter.
That was part of what made Manchester United’s three European Cup wins so special, seeing academy stars in the starting line-up.
Also hovering over City’s achievements is the 115 financial charges hanging over them, from a Premier League investigation, report BBC Sport.
Meanwhile Manchester United are busy plotting how to move forward and challenge City, which is tricky right now amid the lack of clarity with the ownership.
It probably won’t be with Brandon Williams as part of it, he played only five minutes this season.
He will look to move on to play regular football – but wherever he goes, it’s clear he is a Red Devil at heart.
