Leny Yoro will be Manchester United’s newest signing this summer, and now his squad number has potentially been revealed.
The deal to bring Leny Yoro to Old Trafford is almost finished as he’s passed his medical and is now we imagine completing media requirements.
Signing Yoro is a move few could’ve seen coming, with Manchester United not looking likely to get the deal done as Real Madrid were favourites for the Golden Boy nominee.
But Ineos effectively blew Madrid out of the water, and with Los Blancos not willing to compete, Yoro was convinced to come to Old Trafford instead.
As we await his confirmation, there are only a few things left to wonder. One of which is what shirt number he’ll be wearing at United.
Leny Yoro’s possible Manchester United squad number
Yoro’s set to become the latest official Manchester United addition and could end up being the most expensive teenage signing in the club’s history.
As we await his official arrival, which could even see him in training this week, now it’s been reported what number he’ll be donning next season.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Yoro could be handed the number 15 shirt for United this summer and he will absolutely do it justice.
The number 15 at United has been worn by some of the club’s biggest legends, and in taking the shirt, he could go on to follow in their footsteps and become a club icon. This could be the case if he reaches his potential.
Manchester United number 15 shirt history
If he is awarded the number 15 shirt, the most notable name from recent years that he’ll be following in the footsteps of is Nemanja Vidic.
Vidic is a United legend, making 300 appearances for the Red Devils, in which he won five Premier Leagues and a Champions League.
Aside from Vidic, the likes of Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Gary Neville have all been allocated to the number at one point.
The most recent owner of the number 15 shirt however was Sergio Reguilon, so Yoro will be able to make a name for himself in the shirt and make it iconic once again, like Vidic did.
