Manchester United have announced a 29-man squad which will be heading to the USA on Wednesday for the club’s 2024 tour.
Erik ten Hag has named his squad which is heading the the USA on Wednesday for the pre-season fixtures against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool over the next week and a half.

Last season saw United take on Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Arsenal in the States, with only a win over Arsenal.

Key inclusions
In the squad, several interesting names have been included, with Harry Amass no doubt being among the most interesting.
Amass at just 17 has clearly impressed Ten Hag already and will now get his chance against some massive clubs this summer. Along with Amass, Jack Fletcher is also heading on the tour with James Scanlon, Sam Mather and Maxi Oyedele all joining the squad too.
It’s excellent to see last season’s treble-winning U18 squad being given the chance to impress at a senior level.
Other notable inclusions are Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund who were all returning from Euro 2024 and are yet to feature this summer.
Notable omissions
As many expected, the squad sees the omission of new striker Joshua Zirkzee, along with Altay Bayindir, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Facundo Pellistri and Luke Shaw. All of these names are still on holiday after their international commitments which only ended earlier this month.
Tyrell Malacia is also absent, as he continues his rehabilitation after missing an entire year through injury. This move to leave the Dutchman behind is very smart, as he needs to build his fitness back up before being eligible for selection and Carrington is the best place to do this.
Manchester United tour fixtures
The players are already on their way to America, and they will have a few days of acclimatising and training before game number one against Arsenal.
Then it will be four days off until the second game against Real Betis and then finally it will be United vs Liverpool for the first time since Jurgen Klopp’s departure.
