Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho scored his first goal for the club in last night’s 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad.

Garnacho’s strike was praised by Red Devils legend Paul Scholes, after breaking the deadlock early in the first half.

United could not add a second goal to secure top spot in the group, but Garnacho will look back on his big moment with immense pride.

The strike looks even better considering it broke a club record which had stood since 1964.

Garnacho breaks George Best record

Garnacho’s goal with his left-foot was a very impressive strike, breaking a record previously held by George Best.

The 18-year-old became the youngest non-English goalscorer to net in Europe for the club since Best.

Garnacho is in very impressive company alongside George Best, one of Manchester United’s greatest ever players.

Best scored a total of 179 goals for United in more than 400 games for the club, and won the European Cup in 1968, at the end of his finest ever season, in which he netted 32 times.

Mancheter United youngster Garnacho is only just getting started, and there will be plenty more to come.

While this night has a tinge of disappointment to it due to the goals United needed, Garnacho will look back on it with immense pride, having scored the winner.
