Ryan Giggs has recalled an incredible story where legendary former Manchester United player Sir Bobby Charlton took part in a club training session in the 1990s.
Charlton passed away last October at the age of 86, with it later revealed that the United legend had suffered an accidental fall at a care home.
The football world mourned the loss of Charlton and the former United and England player was laid to rest last November, with fans paying tribute to the club icon.
Giggs was among the attendees at the Manchester Cathedral for the funeral service, with legendary former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson also in attendance.
Charlton had remained an ever-present figure at Old Trafford after his legendary playing career and the Ballon d’Or winner was thought of highly by those at the club.

Giggs on Charlton taking part in United training
Giggs appeared at the Ulster Hall in Belfast and took part in an on-stage interview, with the United legend sharing his admiration for one current player at Old Trafford.
During the event last Sunday, The Daily Telegraph reported that the 50-year-old former Wales manager was asked about 1966 World Cup winner Charlton.
Giggs revealed that Charlton once took part in training with United when the Premier League club returned to Europe in the 1990s, according to the newspaper.
Charlton trained with a United squad featuring both Steve Bruce and Paul Ince, with the former England international taking shots against Peter Schmeichel.
Giggs believed Charlton was in his “mid-50s” at the time and was in awe at the World Cup winner’s performance in training.
“In European matches, he used to join in training,” he said.
“He was brilliant and had that dip in his shoulder. He was shooting from 30 yards. He must have been mid-50s.”
Giggs broke Charlton’s record at United
Giggs spent his entire club playing career at Old Trafford and would smash Charlton’s record for most appearances at United.
The former United winger notched up a staggering 963 appearances during his time at the Red Devils, surpassing Charlton’s 758 matches played for the club.
Charlton previously admitted that he didn’t feel “threatened” by Giggs breaking his record and called the ex-Wales international a “marvellous” player in 2007.
“Ryan is a great lesson to any young player,” he said at the time (via Sky Sports).
“Obviously, we played in different eras and we didn’t have any substitutes back then, so we didn’t get any rest.
“But, nevertheless, you cannot say Ryan is anything other than a marvellous footballer and I am proud he has been associated with Manchester United for so long.”
