Ahead of Sunday’s visit to Old Trafford, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been speaking about the Manchester United stadium.
For Manchester United, the visit of Arsenal on Sunday is almost a lose-lose situation.
Either the performance replicates what was seen on Monday and the Gunners blow United away or on the other hand, a win probably hands Man City the title.
This season has been atrocious and many will be excited for it to end with little interest in how the league table ends up but instead focussing on the cup final.
However, one person who’ll be excited for this weekend is Bukayo Saka, here’s why…
Bukayo Saka shares why he loves playing at Old Trafford
On Sunday, one of the most dangerous forwards that United will have to defend against is Saka, and now he’s shared how he really feels about Old Trafford.
Speaking with Sky Sports, Saka explained exactly why he loves his visits to the Theatre of Dreams.
“I watch a lot of football because I love football,” Saka began to explain.
“For years, the special nights you see in the Premier League and Champions League at Old Trafford. It was nice to be on the pitch and to play.
“I’ve played there a few times now and it’s definitely my favourite stadium to play in.”
How has Bukayo Saka performed against Manchester United?
Given it’s his favourite stadium to play in, it’s worth looking into how he has fared in his travels to Old Trafford thus far in his young career.
Bukayo Saka’s form at Old Trafford
Date | Score | Goals | Assists |
30/09/19 | Man United 1-1 Arsenal | 0 | 1 |
01/11/20 | Man United 0-1 Arsenal | 0 | 0 |
02/12/21 | Man United 3-2 Arsenal | 0 | 0 |
04/09/22 | Man United 3-1 Arsenal | 1 | 0 |
As seen in this table, Saka hasn’t had the happiest of memories at his favourite stadium thus far.
Just one win with two defeats, although he has assisted and scored at Old Trafford.
Ahead of Sunday, this is a confidence boost for United given how Arsenal have struggled with it being three-and-a-half years since they won at Old Trafford.
