Former Wales manager Ryan Giggs has dropped incredible praise on one of his former Manchester United teammates after claiming that he “knew he had that temperament.”

Giggs, who was once valued at £2bn by ex-teammate Roy Keane, spent his entire club playing career under ex-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

The 50-year-old Welshman came through the club’s famed ‘Class of ‘92’ and enjoyed incredible success during his illustrious 24-year senior career at United.

Giggs lifted a whopping 13 Premier League titles with United, along with two Champions League trophies, four FA Cups and four League Cups.

The United legend was both an influential figure on the pitch and off it, with Giggs being one of three locker-room leaders for Ferguson at Old Trafford.

Giggs’ ultimate praise on United legend

Giggs called it time on his prolific career at Old Trafford in 2014, having made a staggering 963 senior appearances during his time at the Premier League club.

The former United winger shared the pitch at Old Trafford with several Red Devils legends, including Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona.

Giggs recently made an on-stage appearance at the Ulster Hall in Belfast and shared his thoughts on one United star who can make fans stand up out of their seats.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the crowd at the venue ‘shouted the names of people’ they wanted the former Wales international to ‘comment on.’

One of those names included United legend Michael Carrick, who Giggs praised for his ‘love’ and knowledge of football and also his ‘temperament.’

“I knew he had that temperament. Knows football, loves the game,” he said.

Giggs’ admiration for Carrick not the first

Carrick has often been labelled as underrated due to the fact that he played alongside fellow United legend Scholes in the heart of midfield.

However, the 42-year-old former United star was more than a reliable partner for Scholes and made an impact in his midfield role during his prolific run at the club.

Giggs previously said that Carrick was the type of player who made others around him much better and had a “calming influence” both on the pitch and off it.

“Michael just makes players around him play better,” he told ITV in 2017 (via Goal).

“He’s got that calming influence that you can see on and off the pitch, it’s a pleasure to play with him.

“When you play with players, you want to trust them when they have the ball and Michael is one of those players.

“When he is on the pitch, you can trust him. He always makes the right decision.”
