Aside from loanee Jadon Sancho, Manchester United’s players can only dream of reaching the Champions League final.
In the second semi-final this week we saw Bayern Munich familiarly give up a late lead to Real Madrid, which brought memories back for Manchester United supporters.
At least one Manchester United player was watching too, with Alejandro Garnacho active on social media following Real Madrid’s win.
Garnacho sent out a congratulatory message to one Real star after their victory, making his admiration very clear.
Garnacho hails Vinicius Jr
Alejandro Garnacho has lots of admiration for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr, who scored in their first leg against Bayern Munich.
Garnacho congratulated Vinicius Jr on helping Real reach the final, as they look to win a staggering 15th Champions League trophy.
The Brazilian has won it once, netting the winner against Liverpool in 2022, to the delight of Manchester United supporters.
Garnacho sent a message to the Brazilian after the match, hailing him as the ‘best player in the world’.
Big praise from Garnacho
It is big praise from Garnacho to describe Vinicius Jr as the best player in the world. It was a status previously coveted by Garnacho’s idol and former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The reigning Ballon d’Or winner, deservedly or not, is Garnacho’s Argentina teammate Lionel Messi.
While one player who is desperate to be recognised as the world’s best is Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is expected to sign with Real this summer, making them even better. Do they even need him?
Garnacho of course aspires to be among the world’s best too, and United fans may fear he heads to Real like Ronaldo one day.
But thankfully while they have Vinicius, plus Mbappe to join along with Endrick, it’s hard to see where he might fit in.
