Manchester United youngster Leny Yoro made a successful pre-season debut for the Red Devils in Scotland.
Less than 48 hours after his Manchester United transfer was announced, new signing Leny Yoro was playing for the first team.
United included Leny Yoro in the matchday squad to face Rangers in pre-season, and he was named in the starting line-up.
Yoro kept a clean sheet as Manchester United won the game 2-0, playing the first 45 minutes, substituted at half-time along with every other outfield player.
Leny Yoro praised
Leny Yoro’s performance scored well in our Manchester United player ratings against Rangers.
The young Frenchman made some important contributions to stop Rangers attacks, and his passing range, short and long, was also on show.
MUTV pundit Danny Simpson gave his verdict on Yoro’s performance and he said he was impressed.
Simpson explained: “He looks calm, he never looks in a stressed position, he’s like ‘listen I’ve got this’.
“For an 18-year-old playing in his first game for Man United, he looked very calm and composed and you can tell he believes in himself and is confident.”
Leny Yoro was happy with his debut
Yoro spoke after the game to MUTV and expressed his happiness his first minutes in a Manchester United shirt.
He said: “For me, it was incredible. It was a really good game from the team. I’m happy with my performance and I hope we continue like that.
“Teammates helped me a lot, the staff, they make me comfortable. On the pitch, we are together, so for me, it’s very good.”
Yoro started alongside Jonny Evans, with Lisandro Martinez not yet back from the Copa America.
Meanwhile Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire were not yet match fit, and this has given Yoro a headstart in his preparations for the 2024/25 season.
