Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho scored a stunning goal to give the team the lead against Everton.
All the talk before the game was about Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo. Then his FA Youth Cup winning teammate Alejandro Garnacho stole the show.
This was Garnacho’s first Premier League goal of the season, and what a goal. It was a stunning overhead kick you will want to see over and over again.
In just the third minute of the game, it was the dream start for Manchester United to quieten the Goodison Park crowd.
Gary Neville reacts to Alejandro Garnacho goal
Former Manchester United star Gary Neville was on commentary for Sky Sports and he had high praise for the youngster’s stunning strike.
He raved: “I can’t believe it. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a stadium where I’ve seen an overhead kick as good as that, and I was on the pitch for Wayne Rooney’s in the Manchester derby.
“That was unbelievable what we’ve just seen. Wow. that is a magical goal.”
Neville added: “It is the best overhead kick I’ve seen live and the best I’ve ever seen.”
Analysing the goal further, he noted, “As he goes in the air you think ‘ooh no here we go’. Its moving away from goal, it makes it even harder.”
Garnacho needed this
Garnacho’s finishing was scrutinised after the recent win over Luton at Old Trafford, where he was part of a wasteful attack.
This was the hardest chance he will have all season, and managed to spectacularly fire his effort into the top corner past Jordan Pickford. It really was special.
Diogo Dalot provided the assist with a superb cross, and there is a lesson there, put the service in and United’s forwards will make something of it.
