Alejandro Garnacho has just done something incredible for Manchester United.

In a hostile Goodison Park, Manchester United broke the deadlock after just two minutes, with surely one of the goals of the season from Alejandro Garnacho.

Diogo Dalot floated in a cross to the Argentine, who propelled his body into the air and unleashed a ridiculous overhead kick which flew into the top corner of Jordan Pickford’s goal.

It sent Red Devils fans across the globe into sheer ecstasy. So much so – that a bold claim is circulating on social media.

Manchester United fans on Alejandro Garnacho overhead kick

Manchester United fans are all saying that the Argentine’s acrobatic effort was better than that of Wayne Rooney‘s against Manchester City.

‘I’m sorry, Rooney… but this goal from Garnacho absolutely tops your derby overhead kick against Man City,’ one writes.

‘That Garnacho overhead kick was way better than Rooney’s against City’s btw,’ a second adds.

Another adds: ‘Much cleaner connection. Rooney’s came off his shin.’

‘That Garnacho overhead kick was better than both Ronaldo and Rooney’s for me,’ says another.

‘An absolutely insane strike, definitely rivals, if not betters Rooney’s,’ says another

Another says: ‘I was stood right behind the goal when Wayne Rooney scored his bicycle kick against Manchester City. That from Garnacho was even better. One of the greatest goals in Manchester United history you have just seen there.’

‘The fact it’s against Everton rather than in the white heat of a Manchester Derby will count against it… But in terms of connection that’s a better striker than Wayne Rooney’s,’ a final adds – hitting the nail on the head.

Alejandro Garnacho’s or Wayne Rooney’s overhead kick?

In our opinion, the final fan comment sums it up perfectly.

Garnacho’s strike technically was better than Rooney’s, but the occasion of a Manchester derby at Old Trafford certainly plays a factor.

Two insane goals in their own rights. Take a bow, Alejandro.
