Ever since his emergence into the first team for Manchester United, Kobbie Mainoo has been compared with Clarence Seedorf.

After Kobbie Mainoo made his full Premier League debut against Everton, Rio Ferdinand made the comparison to Clarence Seedorf.

Mainoo’s elusive debut was the moment that he was introduced into the world and Ferdinand made the bold comparison, which soon became far from bold.

Manchester United will be delighted with Mainoo’s progress and he is becoming increasingly important for both club and country thanks to his qualities.

Now, Seedorf has explained what makes Mainoo so vital to both, while speaking with Ferdinand.

Clarence Seedorf lauds ‘complete’ Kobbie Mainoo

The initial comparison from Ferdinand has come full circle with the legendary United defender now interviewing Seedorf about Mainoo.

Speaking with FIVE, Seedorf has now labelled Mainoo as being the “complete package” in midfield. This is just a month after the Real Madrid legend suggested that Mainoo has one quality he never did.

“He is not afraid of getting balls in traffic which is good, he comes out of it really nicely many times. Just his personality, head up meaning that I have control of the situation.

“These things seem very simple things but it means so much for a team.”

Coming from Seedorf who was so key to every team he played for, this is tremendous praise for Mainoo. At just 19, there are still so many levels for the talented No.37 to improve upon and we can only imagine how perfect he’ll be in another few season’s time.

Kobbie Mainoo can become world-class by winning Euro 2024

The term ‘world-class’ gets thrown around a lot and is often done too quickly. That being said, Mainoo is on the cusp of being considered a world-class talent as opposed to a prospect.

Being a starting midfielder and a key part of such a triumph guarantees that he should be viewed as world-class going forward.

This is excellent for United as Mainoo’s experiences here will have definitely helped him improve further.

Next season could be scary for Mainoo’s opponents in 2024/25.
