13 Manchester United players are on international duty over the next week or so. Here’s every Red Devils star involved and the fixtures they could feature in.
Yet another international break is upon us, which means no Premier League football for the weekend. Manchester United and Erik ten Hag headed into the break on a severe high, advancing to the FA Cup semi-finals after a famous 4-3 win against Liverpool.
Now, first-team squad players’ attentions turn to their national sides for some friendly matches ahead of Euro 2024 and the Copa America 2024.
This is their final chance to impress – so which Manchester United players are looking to leave their mark?
Altay Bayindir – Turkey
- Hungary (Friday, March 22)
- Austria (Tuesday, March 26)
Backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will be featuring between the sticks for Turkey. They face both Hungary and Austria.
Andre Onana‘s fine form has kept Bayindir well away from United’s starting XI, but he’s still number one in the eyes of his country – and will be looking to cement his slot there for the summer tournament.
Harry Maguire – England
- Brazil (Saturday, March 23)
- Belgium (Tuesday, March 26)
As always, Harry Maguire secures a spot in England’s squad. The defender faces two extremely tough tasks against Brazil and Belgium.
Gareth Southgate trusts Maguire as one of his leading men on the international stage, so he should have no worries about his chance of featuring at Euro 2024.
Kobbie Mainoo – England
- Brazil (Saturday, March 23)
- Belgium (Tuesday, March 26)
The huge news of the week is that Kobbie Mainoo has been promoted from the under-21s setup to England’s first-team squad.
The 18-year-old has been fast-tracked by Southgate, presumably after seeing his masterclass against Liverpool. He is the most exciting of the Manchester United players on international duty to watch over the next week.
Marcus Rashford – England
- Brazil (Saturday, March 23)
- Belgium (Tuesday, March 26)
Despite struggling for his top form this season, Marcus Rashford is still in and among it in the England setup.
The forward will be riding high after his equaliser against Liverpool last Sunday, and looking to continue the goalscoring form for the Three Lions.

Lisandro Martinez – Argentina
- El Salvador (Saturday, March 23)
- Costa Rica (Wednesday, March 27)
Remarkably, Lisandro Martinez has been called up to the Argentina squad. This comes after being injured, as of the 20th of March 2024, for 45 days after he suffered a bad one against West Ham United in the Premier League.
Whether he plays for Argentina is a different story. He is the most shocking call-up from the Manchester United players on international duty.

Alejandro Garnacho – Argentina
- El Salvador (Saturday, March 23)
- Costa Rica (Wednesday, March 27)
However, Manchester United academy graduate, Alejandro Garnacho, could certainly feature.
The wonderkid got the news he’d been waiting for as he is back involved with the World Cup winners. Well deserved.
Victor Lindelof – Sweden
- Portugal (Thursday, March 21)
- Albania (Monday, March 25)
Victor Lindelof will be captaining his national side Sweden against Portugal and Albania.
Lindelof has become an integral part of Sweden’s setup and is arguably the first name on the team sheet He’ll face off in the Portugal clash against some familiar faces around Old Trafford.
Scott McTominay – Scotland
- Netherlands (Friday, March 22)
- Northern Ireland (Tuesday, March 26)
Scott McTominay simply loves playing for Scotland, and he will face two huge games next week.
The serial goal-getter will be looking to provide an upset against the Netherlands and then faces neighbours Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
Sofyan Amrabat – Morocco
- Angola (Friday, March 22)
- Mauritania (Tuesday, March 26)
Sofyan Amrabat faces two friendlies against Angola and Mauritania.
Amrabat is always a regular in the Morocco setup, despite falling heavily out of favour since his loan move to Carrington.
Christian Eriksen – Denmark
- Switzerland (Saturday, March 23)
- Faroe Islands (Tuesday, March 26)
Another man who isn’t exactly in favour in red, but is adored by his country is Christian Eriksen.
The Danish legend will feature against Switzerland and the Faroe Islands.
Rasmus Hojlund – Denmark
- Switzerland (Saturday, March 23)
- Faroe Islands (Tuesday, March 26)
Rasmus Hojlund joins Eriksen in the Denmark squad. The £64m forward is currently coming back from injury but will get more minutes on the international stage.
Manchester United fans will be praying Switzerland and the Faroe Islands go easy on him – he’s going to be vital towards the end of the season.
Bruno Fernandes – Portugal
- Sweden (Thursday, March 21)
- Slovenia (Tuesday, March 26)
Manchester United’s captain Bruno Fernandes faces Sweden and Slovenia.
After a stunning performance against Liverpool which proved so much to Manchester United supporters – he’ll once again be looking to shine on the international stage.
Diogo Dalot – Portugal
- Sweden (Thursday, March 21)
- Slovenia (Tuesday, March 26)
Last but not least, Diogo Dalot will be joining Fernandes in the clashes against Sweden and Slovenia. He and Bruno will face off with Lindelof on Thursday… who will come out on top?
That’s all Manchester United players on international duty over the next week.
