The season is now over for Manchester United and ahead of a busy summer transfer window, we’ve decided whether to sell or keep every player.
Overall the 2023/24 season was wildly disappointing for Manchester United with an eighth-place finish in the league, getting grouped in the Champions League and a fourth-round EFL Cup exit.
However, in the final game of the season, the club lifted its 13th FA Cup, beating Manchester City in the final which came as a shock to many.
But despite a bad season for the team, several players had great seasons, while others had absolutely terrible ones.
So with the transfer window about to open, we’ve gone through the entire squad and decided whether to sell or keep each player.
We won’t be including players who are already set to leave such as Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
Andre Onana – Keep
Despite a rocky opening few months at United, Andre Onana has more than made up for it while facing more shots than anyone in the league bar the Sheffield United keeper. Keep.
Altay Bayindir – Sell
This move just hasn’t worked out for any party with Altay Bayindir making just one appearance and conceding twice to Newport in that appearance. Sell.
Tom Heaton – Keep
The 38-year-old’s contract expires in June, but we see no reason he should be leaving at this stage as he’s a great personality and could very easily end up in a coaching role, Tom Heaton stays. Keep.
Lisandro Martinez – Keep
Lisandro Martinez reminded everyone what he’s capable of during the FA Cup final, locking up Erling Haaland in impressive fashion, no doubt he will bounce back next season and hopefully leave his injury woes behind him. Keep.

Harry Maguire – Keep
Harry Maguire deserves immense praise for his season, bouncing back from being the club’s most vilified players to now one of the most popular all while enjoying a strong season too, he should be here next season. Keep.
Victor Lindelof – Sell
As the defence looks likely to be overhauled this summer, one victim might be Victor Lindelof as it’s hard to see a place for him anymore in the team. Sell.
Willy Kambwala – Keep
One of the youngsters to emerge into the first team this season was Willy Kambwala and he should definitely be kept this summer, although his role will likely be diminished. Keep.
Jonny Evans – Keep
He may be out of contract this summer, but as long as he isn’t a regular player like this season, there’s no reason Jonny Evans shouldn’t stay, like Heaton. Keep.
Luke Shaw – Keep
Luke Shaw is arguably the best left-back in the league when he’s fit, but this season simply hasn’t been good enough from a fitness standpoint. That being said, there’s little chance he’s sold. Keep.
Tyrell Malacia – Keep
Having not played a single minute in 2023/24, selling Tyrell Malacia for a decent fee would be impossible so we just have to hope he is fit to play next season and returns to the solid player we saw last season. Keep.
Diogo Dalot – Keep
Players’ Player of the Year Diogo Dalot stays and is probably among the safest players this summer after a phenomenal season. Definitely Keep.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Keep
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the ideal player to have as an option behind Dalot with his incredible defensive qualities which are perfect for big games and effectively shut down the opponent’s left winger, such a speciality player is worth keeping. Keep.
Scott McTominay – Keep
Like Maguire, Scott McTominay‘s stock has risen exponentially this season and he’s become a pivotal player in Ten Hag’s team. It’s hard to imagine he’s sold this summer. Keep.
Sofyan Amrabat – Keep
Sofyan Amrabat at the moment is set to return to Fiorentina when his loan expires, however, after recent performances, he may have earned the move and would be a solid option. Keep.
Casemiro – Sell
Probably the player most likely to be sold this summer, Casemiro has to go with the wages he’s on and the season of performances he’s just put in. Sell
Kobbie Mainoo – Keep
Kobbie Mainoo doesn’t even need to be on this list, zero chance he should or will go this summer or ever. Keep 100%.
Christian Eriksen – Sell
In the same boat as Casemiro, Christian Eriksen just isn’t at the level of United anymore and he’ll probably have suitors this summer. Sell.
Hannibal Mejbri – Sell
Hannibal Mejbri has been on loan at Sevilla since January and has struggled. It’s unlikely he will return to Erik ten Hag‘s plans and therefore either a sale or a loan is likely. Sell.
Bruno Fernandes – Keep
Captain Fantastic Bruno Fernandes is an absolute must to keep ahold of this summer. The Portuguese star is pivotal to the club and the team. Absolutely Keep.
Mason Mount – Keep
Season two for Mason Mount will be very important and likely definitive. He’ll be desperate to make it work at United and must return to preseason in top form. Keep.
Jadon Sancho – Sell
After spending the second half of the season at Dortmund on loan, Jadon Sancho should probably be staying there and whether it’s loan or permanent, he likely will be there next season. Sell.
Mason Greenwood – Sell
After impressing in La Liga, Mason Greenwood will be sold this summer amid much interest and United stand to pocket a healthy fee. Sell.
Marcus Rashford – Keep
Despite a disappointing season for Marcus Rashford, he shouldn’t be going anywhere his summer as he deserves one more season to prove himself. Keep.

Alejandro Garnacho – Keep
No debate over whether Alejandro Garnacho should be kept, he’s one of the club’s biggest stars. Definitely Keep.
Antony – Sell
If there is any chance Antony can be sold, United should take it as he’s had two seasons now and done very little to convince anyone of his ability. Sell.
Amad Diallo – Keep
It took Ten Hag all season to come to realise Amad Diallo deserves to be playing and next season his minutes should be significantly increased. Keep.
Rasmus Hojlund – Keep
Rasmus Hojlund had an up-and-down season, however for his first season as a striker for United, to score 16 goals is impressive and he’ll likely improve next season. Keep.
