Manchester United look primed to confirm a second signing of the summer, but a third is already being looked at and sought after.

The arrival of Leny Yoro will probably be the signing of the summer for Manchester United but in terms of completing the starting line-up for next season, Ineos are one move away.

After Yoro’s arrival, United signed two of the three main priorities for this summer, with Joshua Zirkzee signing as well.

With centre-back and striker strengthened, now United are turning attention toward a defensive midfielder.

This is the final major piece of the puzzle for Erik ten Hag, and a bid for the top target is now expected in the coming days.

Manchester United turn attention toward Manuel Ugarte

For United, two priorities have been ticked off and while there is more work to be done, there is really just one more main priority and that is defensive midfield.

Giving Kobbie Mainoo a midfield partner is as important a job as any for Ineos this summer, and now it’s been reported that attention has turned to making Manuel Ugarte the third signing of the summer.

According to L’Equipe, United are now expected to submit a new offer to sign PSG’s Uruguayan midfield general in the coming days.

This will come as a shock to United fans considering how quickly Ineos are now progressing through these deals and building a very impressive squad for Ten Hag next season.

Ugarte could potentially be the final piece of the puzzle and leave United with a rock-solid starting XI, and only depth left to strengthen this summer.

Ugarte reached the Copa America semi-final this summer for Uruguay and was incredibly impressive in doing so.

The midfield terrier seems to have refound the form which made him so sought after before his PSG move. Now, United must wrap up this deal and then focus on outgoings before adding to the squad further in the next few months.
