Manchester United are closing in on completing a deal for centre-back Leny Yoro.
Leny Yoro is set to complete his transfer to Manchester United after completing the first part of his medical.
Yoro flew to Manchester with his entourage earlier after agreeing to depart Lille for the Red Devils.
Manchester United’s more aggressive play to sign him helped Yoro decide to join the club instead of holding out for Real Madrid.
Leny Yoro update
Fabrizio Romano reports Leny Yoro has completed the first part of his medical and will become a Manchester United player shortly.
Romano writes on X: “Leny Yoro to Manchester United, here we go! Deal in place after first part of medical completed.
“More tests to follow then he’s ready to sign five year deal valid until June 2029.
“Lille and Man United have all documents set for deal worth €50m plus several add-ons.”
Leny Yoro will be Manchester United’s second signing
Leny Yoro is set to become the second player to sign for Manchester United during the transfer window.
He follows striker Joshua Zirkzee, who signs from Serie A side Bologna for £36 million.
United are paying £52 million for Yoro, with the deal including add-ons. He had just one year remaining on his Real contract.
Yoro was a ‘prime target’ for United’s rivals Liverpool. Yoro could face them when United and Liverpool go head to head in pre-season in the USA.
More signings are still expected, and it’s possible United are not done at the centre-back position, with a move for Matthijs de Ligt still possible.
